XTM TM Manager

The purpose of XTM – TM Manager is enable users to edit existing translation assets, or create new ones, and then store them in a database for future use in XTM or export them for use in other applications.

The TM Manager module is divided into two parts.

TM search

The search feature enables you to locate the TM segments you wish to work on. Users may select TM segments based on:

  • source language
  • target language
  • state
  • document id (description)
  • project name
  • phrase
  • phrase search method - full or by stems

Documents and projects names depend on each other and are dynamically changed in the case of any user interaction. Additionally users can quickly preview all available documents in separate pop-up window.

Segment details

The segments found in the search are displayed in a table with the following properties:

  • segments in source language
  • segments in target language
  • status of the segments (approved, not-approved, deprecated)

Each segment can be deleted, updated (in target language) and the status can be changed. All operations are automatically propagated to the server so there is no need to save user changes manually. While editing the segment users can easily reset it to the initial value.

Adding new memory segments

The user may add segments to the XTM TM Manager database by specifying a source language, source segment, target language, target segment, and status. Adding segments may be performed from a separate TM manager page or from the normal memory management page.

Aligning documents

XTM TM Manager lets you align source and target documents.

Memory import

Translation memories can be imported into TM manager database via .TMX files. Uploading files from the user's browser to the server is optimised by allowing the use of .ZIP files.

Memory export

Translation memories can be exported from the TM manager database. The required memory segments can be chosen by searching on source language, target language, document id or project name. Translation memories are exported as a zipped .TMX file.
